B01: Electroweak interactions in nuclei and nuclear matter

In project B01 we will advance consistent electroweak currents based on chiral effective field theory to ab initio calculations of light to medium-mass nuclei. We will develop a systematic understanding of electroweak transitions in nuclei and a comprehensive description of neutrino-matter interactions in core-collapse supernovae. Consistent currents are fundamental for an accurate description of electroweak interactions in nuclei and nuclear matter, and have an important impact on matrix elements for fundamental symmetries.
